About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and NodeLane Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number [company number], registered office [registered office address]) ("NodeLane", "we", "us"). They govern your use of the NodeLane Solana RPC gateway, the website at nodelane.dev, the dashboard and any related services (together, the "Service").

By creating an account, subscribing or using an API key, you accept these terms. If you use the Service on behalf of a company or other organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind it, and "you" means that organisation.

The Service is for business and developer use only. It is not offered to consumers, and you confirm you are using it for purposes related to your trade, business or profession. You must be at least 18 years old.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data and forms part of these terms.

02

Beta programme

The Service is currently in a beta programme. While the beta runs:

  • Checkout runs in Stripe test mode. No real payments are taken, and you should pay only with the test card shown at signup. Never enter real card details during the beta.
  • The Service is provided free of charge, "as is", for evaluation. The service level in section 8 does not apply, and no service credits are available.
  • Features, limits, pricing and these terms may change at short notice. We may reset usage, revoke or reissue API keys, or end the beta at any time.
  • Beta accounts will not automatically convert to paid subscriptions. We will tell you before paid plans start and ask you to subscribe again with a real payment method.
  • We welcome feedback, and may use it to improve the Service without obligation to you.

When the beta ends, we will update this section. Paid use from then on is covered by the rest of these terms in full.

03

Your account and API keys

  • You sign in with a one-time link sent to your email address. Keep access to that mailbox secure: anyone who can read it can sign in to your account.
  • Your API key is a secret credential. Do not publish it or embed it in client-side code or public repositories. You are responsible for all usage made with your key, whether or not you authorised it.
  • If you think your key has been exposed, revoke it from your dashboard straight away and generate a new one. Revoking takes effect within about a minute.
  • Keep your account email accurate. We send service, billing and security notices to it.
  • Each plan includes the number of API keys stated for that plan (Pro: one key).
04

The service

NodeLane provides a single JSON-RPC endpoint for the Solana network. We forward your requests to one or more third-party RPC providers, automatically failing over between them, and may serve responses from our cache. The methods we support, their costs and our error codes are listed in the documentation.

We may validate, reject, route or cache requests to protect the Service and its providers, for example by rejecting unfiltered getProgramAccounts calls or routing methods only to providers that support them.

05

NodeLane Units, quotas and limits

  • Usage is measured in NodeLane Units (NU). Each JSON-RPC call costs the number of NU stated in the documentation (currently 40 NU per call). Each item in a batch request counts as a separate call. A batch may contain at most 25 calls.
  • Every call that reaches the gateway with a valid key counts towards your quota, including calls that are later rejected as invalid, return an error, or are served from cache. There are two exceptions, neither of which is counted: a batch that is empty or over the batch limit, which is rejected as a whole before any call runs; and a call that fails because no upstream provider could serve it at the time, returned as "Upstream temporarily unavailable".
  • Your plan includes a monthly NU quota and a burst rate limit (Pro: 200,000,000 NU per billing period, 25 calls per second per key, and at most 25 calls per batch). The burst limit counts each call, so a batch of 10 calls uses 10 of the 25. Once your quota is used up, further requests are rejected until your next billing period starts. Calls above the burst limit are rejected.
  • Quotas reset at the start of each billing period. Unused NU do not roll over and have no cash value.
  • Usage shown in your dashboard is updated periodically and may lag behind real usage by a short time. Our records of usage are authoritative.
  • Limits are enforced automatically but are not a spending or safety control you can rely on. In rare cases (for example during an internal fault) requests over a limit may be allowed through. This does not entitle us to charge you for more than your plan price.
06

Fees, billing and taxes

  • Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through our payment provider, Stripe, and renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled.
  • Prices are shown on our website. Applicable taxes (such as VAT or sales tax) are calculated at checkout and may be added to the price. Stripe may act as reseller or merchant of record for the transaction and handle tax on our behalf.
  • We never see or store your full card details; they are handled by Stripe under its own terms.
  • If a payment fails, or your subscription stops being active for any reason, your API key is suspended straight away and reactivated once payment succeeds. Update your payment method from Manage billing in your dashboard.
  • If you dispute a payment with your bank or card issuer (a chargeback), your API key is suspended straight away while the dispute is open. If the dispute is resolved in your favour, we cancel the subscription. If it is resolved in ours, we restore access once payment is confirmed. Please contact us first, as we can usually resolve billing problems faster than a chargeback.
  • We may change our prices with at least 30 days' notice by email. The new price applies from your next billing period after the notice ends; you can cancel before then if you do not accept it.
07

Cancellation and refunds

  • You can cancel at any time from Manage billing in your dashboard. Cancellation stops the next renewal.
  • Your key keeps working until the end of the billing period you have paid for, then stops.
  • Fees are non-refundable, including for partial months and unused NU, except where we say otherwise in these terms (such as service credits in section 8 or termination by us under section 12) or where the law requires a refund.
  • If we refund a payment in full, we cancel the subscription it paid for and your API key stops working. A partial refund does not cancel your subscription.
08

Service level

For paid subscriptions (not the beta), we aim for the NodeLane endpoint to be available 99.9% of the time in each calendar month ("Monthly Availability").

  • How it is measured: Monthly Availability is the percentage of minutes in the month in which the endpoint accepted and responded to valid requests, as measured by our monitoring.
  • Service credit: if Monthly Availability falls below 99.9%, you are entitled to a credit of [credit amount, e.g. 10%] of that month's plan fee, applied to your next invoice. Credits in any month will not exceed [cap, e.g. 50%] of that month's fee.
  • How to claim: email [email protected] within 30 days of the end of the affected month, with your account email and the dates and times of the problems you saw. Credits have no cash value and are lost if your subscription ends.
  • What is excluded: downtime caused by (a) scheduled maintenance announced at least 24 hours in advance; (b) outages or degraded performance of the Solana network itself; (c) simultaneous failure of all our upstream RPC providers; (d) your own systems, network or misuse, including requests rejected for exceeding your limits or failing validation; (e) suspension under these terms; (f) events outside our reasonable control (see section 18); and (g) slow responses, as opposed to unavailability.
  • Service credits are your only remedy for any failure to meet this service level.
09

Acceptable use

You must not, and must not help anyone else to:

  • use the Service for anything unlawful, fraudulent or harmful;
  • use the Service in breach of UK, EU, US or UN sanctions, or if you (or anyone you act for) are a sanctioned person or located in a comprehensively sanctioned territory;
  • use the Service to facilitate theft, scams, market manipulation, money laundering, malware or attacks on any person, protocol or network;
  • share, sell or sublicense your API key, or resell the Service as a standalone RPC service, without our written agreement (you may use it to power your own products for your end users);
  • try to get around quotas, rate limits, validation or authentication, including by creating multiple accounts to multiply free or plan allowances;
  • send traffic designed to overload, disrupt or probe the security of the Service or our providers, or reverse-engineer it beyond what the law allows; or
  • use the Service in a way that could expose us or our providers to liability.

We may monitor usage patterns (not the content of your requests) to enforce this section.

10

Blockchain data and transactions

  • NodeLane is an infrastructure provider. We do not hold, control or have access to your wallets, private keys or digital assets, and we are not a party to any transaction you submit.
  • Data returned by the Service comes from the Solana network through third-party providers and our cache. It may be delayed, incomplete, out of date or inconsistent between providers. You are responsible for checking data (including commitment level) before relying on it.
  • Submitting a transaction through the Service (for example with sendTransaction) does not guarantee it will be received, included in a block, confirmed or finalised. Transactions on a blockchain are generally irreversible.
  • We are not responsible for any loss of digital assets, failed or delayed transactions, trading losses or missed opportunities arising from use of the Service.
  • Nothing we provide is financial, investment, legal or tax advice.
11

Third-party providers

We rely on third parties to deliver the Service, including upstream RPC providers (currently Chainstack, dRPC and Solana Vibe Station), hosting and network providers, and Stripe for payments. We may add, remove or change providers at any time. We forward only the content of your JSON-RPC request to upstream providers, not your API key, IP address or account details. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of these providers, but we will use reasonable efforts to route around failures.

12

Suspension and termination

  • By you: you can stop using the Service and cancel at any time as described in section 7.
  • Suspension by us: we may suspend your key or account immediately, without notice where reasonable, if payment fails, if a payment is refunded in full or disputed, if you breach these terms (especially section 9), if your usage threatens the security, stability or availability of the Service for others, or if we are required to by law. We will restore access once the issue is resolved, where appropriate.
  • Termination by us: we may terminate your account immediately for serious or repeated breach. We may also terminate for any other reason with at least 30 days' notice by email; in that case we will refund any fees you have prepaid for the period after termination.
  • On termination your API keys stop working. We will delete or anonymise your account data as described in our Privacy Policy. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 5, 6, 14, 15, 16 and 19) continue to apply.
13

Intellectual property

We and our licensors own all rights in the Service, our website, documentation, brand and software. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service in line with these terms during your subscription. You keep all rights in your own applications and data. If you send us feedback, we may use it freely.

14

Disclaimers

Except as expressly set out in these terms (including the service level in section 8), the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we exclude all implied warranties, conditions and terms, including as to satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not guarantee that the Service will always be available, fast or free of errors.

15

Limitation of liability

  • Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded under English law.
  • Subject to that, we are not liable, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise, for any: loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill or anticipated savings; loss or corruption of data; loss of digital assets or failed, delayed or incorrect transactions; or indirect or consequential loss.
  • Subject to the first point, our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with these terms or the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the total fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or £100 if you have paid nothing (for example during the beta).
16

Indemnity

You will indemnify us against claims, losses, damages and reasonable costs (including legal fees) brought by third parties arising from your breach of section 9, your misuse of the Service, or your applications and their users.

17

Changes to the service and these terms

  • We develop the Service continuously and may add, change or remove features, methods, providers or limits. If a change materially reduces what your paid plan includes, we will give you at least 30 days' notice where practical.
  • We may update these terms. For material changes we will give at least 30 days' notice by email or on the website before they take effect. If you keep using the Service after that, you accept the new terms; if you do not agree, you can cancel before they take effect.
18

General

  • Events outside our control: we are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as failures of the Solana network, internet, hosting or power providers, cyber attacks, or government action.
  • Assignment: you may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent. We may transfer them to a successor business, with notice to you.
  • Entire agreement: these terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about the Service, unless we sign a separate written agreement with you (for example for a Scale plan), which takes priority where it conflicts.
  • Severability and waiver: if any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
  • Third-party rights: no one other than you and us has any right to enforce these terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
  • Notices: we will contact you at your account email. You can contact us at [email protected].
19

Governing law and disputes

These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the Service (including non-contractual disputes), are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. Before going to court, we both agree to try to resolve any dispute in good faith by email first.
